BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., – July 2, 2008 –A testament to the power of its franchise development sites within the Hilton Family of Hotels, including Hilton, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Doubletree, Embassy Suites Hotels, Hampton Hotels, Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Grand Vacations Company, Homewood Suites by Hilton and The Waldorf=Astoria Collection, Hilton Hotels Corporation was named a Finalist in the Corporate Information: Franchise Web Sites category in The 2008 American Business Awards.

The American Business Awards -- a cornerstone of the Stevie Awards -- are the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business.  Stevie Award winners were announced during the annual gala on Thursday, June 12 in New York City.  More than 600 executives from across the U.S.A. were in attendance.  The ceremonies were broadcast on radio nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network and hosted by Liz Claman of FOX Business Network.

More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories, including Best Overall Company, Best Executive, Best New Product or Service, Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program, and new categories including Best Management Team and Best Corporate Environmental Responsibility Program.  Hilton Hotels Corporation competed in the Corporate Information: Franchise Web Sites category within the hospitality industry.

“We are honored to have been named a finalist in the category of franchise Web sites, as this critical communications vehicle — including hiltonfranchise.com, hiltondevelopment.com, doubletreefranchise.com, embassyfranchise.com, hamptonfranchise.com, hiltongardeninnfranchise.com, homewoodfranchise.com and wacdevelopment.com – receives over 12 million hits annually,” said Bill Fortier, senior vice president – development.  “Considering our current emphasis on global growth via franchise and management agreements, we depend on the strength of our development sites to convey the strong investment opportunities that our hotels, across nine brands, represent.”

Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected Stevie Award winners from among Finalists in final judging during the week of May 19.   Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April through early May.

“ABA entries grew more than 30% this year, so being named a Finalist is more of an accomplishment than ever before,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie Awards.  “It means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of national recognition.  We congratulate all of the Finalists on their achievement and wish them well in the competition.”
